I don’t know about you, but I cannot believe it is nearing the end of March already! Our last show is in rehearsals, and opening night of Mary Poppins will be here before we know it. And like that, the Sioux Empire Community Theatre’s 13th Season will come to an end. I want to take some time in this last of my quarterly messages to thank you all. Thanks to all of you who have been part of a production this season, whether it’s been through tech, set construction, acting, ushering, serving on a committee, or watching the final product from the audience. Thank you to the Directors serving on the Board this season, putting up with my shenanigans. And thank you to the Sioux Empire Community Theatre staff for all of their hard work in so many different ways and on so many different levels.
What’s next for the Sioux Empire Community Theatre? Save the date for one of the biggest events following the start of the new season: the SECT Annual Membership Meeting and Volunteer Appreciation Picnic will take place on Sunday, July 9, 2016. More details will follow. If you haven’t been to this event in the past, it is our way of coming together as a community and celebrating our volunteers. At the membership meeting, we will also elect new directors to the Board of Directors. If you are interested in serving on the Board, please don’t hesitate to contact either me or Patrick Pope (patrick@siouxfallstheatre.com) so we can answer any questions you may have and get you started on the process to be considered.
Jayden Portice
SECT Board President
